Lesson Summary

Good morning and welcome to my studio! I'm excited to start a new class today with many people interested in creating artwork featuring birds and animals, particularly focusing on fur and feathers.

For this project, we will be working from a stunning photo of a barn owl taken by Andrew Lincoln, a talented photographer who graciously shared the image with us. His skills are evident in the beauty of the owl that will inspire our artwork.

Here's an overview of what we'll be covering in this class:

  • Laying down fabrics and fusing them in.
  • Using various media to add lines and shading.
  • Incorporating thread work to bring the artwork to life, whether it's fur or feathers.

Whether you choose to work from an owl image or another animal, the process remains similar. I am thrilled to have you join this class and look forward to exploring the world of fur and feathers together!
